The Rise of the Knights Korvax: Crafting a Theme-Driven ArcArmy

My hobby project and Arc40k are on a collision trajectory… The Arc40k event weekend looms large for all of us.. it is approaching quickly and it's important to make sure that our plans and projects are coming along well and looking fantastic. We all need to be on time and complete before Saturday 4 March.

Today I want to share my thoughts on how theme has played a crucial role in shaping my list for the upcoming event.

So, my theme this year is centered around the Knights Korvax - created by Bel'Akor the Dark Master by corrupting members of House Raven.

Bel'Akor chose five specific knights to be his servants and as a way that would prevent the typical conflict that often arises among the followers of the four Chaos gods and unaligned forces.

The Knights Apocalypse of Korvax consist of the Knight Tyrant and four Wardogs. Each of the Wardogs are marked by one of the four gods and bear a tainted relic of their patron deity.

The Knight Tyrant acts as the voice of Bel'Akor, reporting back to him - while the Wardogs recruit followers for each of their respective gods who relay their own orders.

Together, however, they form a unified force who want to to crush the loyal followers of the Corpse God and bring glory to Chaos Ascended.

This theme was the foundation of my list, with five knights - the Tyrant and four Wardogs - each with a different mark of Chaos and the Leader bearing the Blessing of the Dark Master!

My initial plan was to make the four Wardogs with minimal conversion, but as the theme solidified, I decided to make them true Heralds of each of the Gods… the result has seen what I have to say are some over-the-top conversions that bring character to each of these Minor Knights and clearly make them deciles of each of the four Chaos Gods.

With the help of the Age of Sigmar Endless spell boxes, my large and supportive gaming group, and the availability of spares in my bits box, I was able to bring my vision to life.

Well, that's all for now, and I hope to see you next time. Until then, it's back to painting!
