Get ArcReady - Mission # 6 King of the Hill

Here we are at the end of this series of articles about sharing some insights and helping everyone get ready for Arc40k by updating and having a bit of a look at each of last year's missions. If you play test them even at this late stage before the event there's a good chance you'll be able to practice and refine how you might handle the challenges of this year's missions.

So be sure to download the Mission 6 .pdf at the end of this article.

King of the Hill is a fast-paced, action-packed mission that requires players to carefully balance their offensive and defensive strategies. With the Battle-forged CP Bonus, players are given an extra Command Point (CP) at the start of each player’s Command phase, increasing the importance of strategy and quick thinking.

The primary objectives in this mission, Hold the Centre and Claim it for Our Cause, require players to control the central objective marker and complete the 'Plant a Flag' Action, respectively. These objectives reward players with victory points that accumulate over the course of the game, so it is important to prioritize them throughout the mission.

In order to achieve the Hold the Centre objective, players need to have at least one or two of their units within 3” of the objective marker and, ideally, with no enemy units within 3” of the marker.

To maximize points for this objective, players should focus on securing the objective marker early in the game and then defending it against enemy units. To do this, players should deploy their units in a defensive formation around the objective marker and prioritize using their CPs in helping to defend it.

The Claim it for Our Cause objective requires players to complete the Plant a Flag action, which can be done by one of their units (except AIRCRAFT) at the end of their movement phase if it is within 3” of the Centre Objective marker.

Players can score 5 Victory Points each time they complete this action, so it is important to make this a priority as well. To maximize points for this objective, players should focus on securing the objective marker and then using their units to complete the Plant a Flag action as quickly as possible.

Overall, the key to success in this mission is a balanced approach that prioritizes both offensive and defensive strategies.

Players should focus on securing the objective marker early in the game, and then use their CPs and units to both defend it and complete the Plant a Flag action. With careful planning and quick thinking, players can maximize their points and emerge victorious in King of the Hill: ARC40K 2022 Mission 6.

Enjoy the lead up to the event and hopefully these articles have helped you get ArcReady!
